It does more than keep the smoke in. It keeps wind and cooler air out. A must have. It makes a difference.

Gasket tape
Prep the area with an alcohol swab. Gasket tape goes on easy. No complaints.

Gasket Seal - Great
I have been using this for a month and I am impressed! Before I applied the seal, I was getting smoke spewing out between the chamber and the CLOSED lid. As soon as this arrived I put it on. I have had several cooks since then and have noticed a dramatic reduction in the smoke escape at the lid! Good job! Great product!
