Designed specifically for the Traeger Timberline 850, the Pimp My Grill® G3 Slide-Out Rack System puts three heavy-duty, removable cooking racks on three separate levels—giving you more usable cooking space while bringing your food to you with smooth slide-out access.

But this isn't simply a set of replacement grill grates.

The Timberline's unique construction gave us the opportunity to engineer an entire rack-support system around the grill itself. The PMG system replaces the factory side panels with heavy-duty steel panels that support our patent-pending slide-out track system, while also changing the angle of the factory grease tray to encourage grease to flow toward the drain.

The result is a purpose-built Timberline 850 upgrade designed around more usable cooking space, easier access to food, flexible cooking configurations, improved grease management, and a better overall cooking workflow.

Three Levels of Slide-Out Cooking Space

The 3-rack G3 system puts more of the Timberline 850's cooking chamber to work.

Instead of limiting most of your cooking to one primary grate, PMG gives you three separate cooking levels, each with its own removable slide-out rack.

Pull a rack toward you to season, sauce, wrap, rotate, or inspect your food without reaching into the back of a hot grill.

Built-in stops help prevent the racks from accidentally being pulled completely out during normal use. When you intentionally need more room, each rack can be removed in seconds.

Run all three racks when you want maximum cooking surface, or remove individual racks when a particular cook requires additional vertical clearance.

More Than Replacement Racks

The Traeger Timberline 850 required a different approach than simply dropping new grates into the cooking chamber.

PMG replaces the factory side panels with heavy-duty steel side panels engineered to become the foundation of the rack system itself.

These panels:

Use All Three Racks—or Configure the Grill Around the Cook

The advantage of removable racks isn't just having more cooking surfaces. It's having options.

Cooking a large batch of food? Run all three racks.

Need more room around something tall? Remove the middle rack.

Want maximum vertical clearance between two cooking surfaces? Run the bottom and top racks.

Need the cooking chamber opened up even further? Remove whichever racks you don't need.

Each rack slides out and removes independently, allowing you to configure the Timberline around what you're cooking instead of forcing every cook into the same fixed layout.

Purpose-Built Rack Spacing

Adding a third rack isn't useful if there isn't enough room to actually cook on it.

That's why the spacing matters.

The bottom and middle racks are separated by 3 1/8 inches, while the middle and top racks have 4 5/8 inches between them. Above the top rack, you still have 5 3/8 inches of clearance to the top of the grill.

Remove the middle rack and you have a full 8 inches from the bottom rack to the top rack.

That gives you three usable cooking levels when you want maximum cooking surface—and the ability to quickly create substantially more vertical room when the food you're cooking demands it.

Put More of the Timberline Cooking Chamber to Work

A pellet grill gives you more than just the space directly above the firepot.

Heat, smoke, and convection move throughout the cooking chamber, and the PMG G3 system gives you three levels where you can put that space to work.

The generous 5 3/8 inches of clearance above the top rack makes the upper position a genuinely useful cooking surface rather than simply a shallow warming rack.

And because the racks slide out, food on the upper and rear portions of the grill remains easy to access throughout the cook.

Engineered to Improve Grease Drainage

Here's another example of why the Timberline system is more than a rack upgrade.

On the Timberline 850, the grease tray is supported by the side panels. Since PMG was already replacing those panels to support the Slide-Out Rack System, we were able to engineer the replacement panels to increase the pitch of the grease tray.

Why?

A steeper pitch encourages grease to move toward the grill's grease drain rather than sitting on the tray.

It's a small engineering detail with a very practical purpose—and exactly the kind of opportunity we look for when developing PMG upgrades.
